Assistant Vice-President – Financial Due Diligence (India)

What we’re looking for:

Leo Berwick is seeking an Assistant VicePresident, Financial Due Diligence to support U.S. and Canadian transactions across buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs, and working capital engagements within a rapidly growing practice. 

You’re the right fit for this role if you – 

  • You have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, working with a Big 4 or equivalent firm.
  • You are a passionate financial strategist looking to be a true partner in a fast-paced, evolving firm
  • You are a skilled communicator, able to translate complex financial data into actionable information for our leaders and clients
  • You have experience designing and implementing policies, procedures and programs that support high performing teams aligned to our current and future growth plans
  • You are an experienced leader able to oversee and partner across departments and teams

Responsibilities: 

  • Prioritize data gathered from financial reports into Excel workbook analyses that provides valuable guidance to the U.S. based engagement team on specific reviews of company financials in the fast-paced world of mergers and acquisitions
  • Prepare and update document request lists and management meeting agendas
  • Participate in management meetings with the Target Company and discussions with the Client
  • Assist in quantification of Quality of Earnings adjustments, Net Working Capital analyses, identifying Debt-like Items.
  • Assist in drafting advanced sections in the report like IS, BS overview, key Points of Interest for consideration in the Report, etc.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, project management, organization, prioritization and follow-up skills
  • Work through industry specific analysis
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge of the technology tools (e.g., advanced Excel, data analytics tools like Alteryx, etc.) required within assigned responsibilities.
  • Mentor, lead and develop junior staff.
  • Review all historic financial data available related to the proposed deal.
  • Evaluate potential synergies and post-merger integration considerations.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field required

  • CA, CPA, MBA or comparable accounting/finance designation preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • A self-starter who is comfortable working remotely and in an unsupervised environment

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • The successful candidates must be willing to travel to Canada and the USA.
