Associate – Financial Due Diligence  (India)

What we’re looking for:

Leo Berwick is seeking an Associate, Financial Due Diligence to support U.S. and Canadian transactions across buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs, and working capital engagements within a rapidly growing practice. 

You’re the right fit for this role if you – 

  • You have at least 1 year of relevant experience, working with a Big 4 or equivalent firm. 
  • You are a passionate financial strategist looking to be a true partner in a fast-paced, evolving firm
  • You are a skilled communicator, able to translate complex financial data into actionable information for our leaders and clients 

Responsibilities: 

  • Prioritize data gathered from financial reports into Excel workbook analyses that provides valuable guidance to the U.S. based engagement team on specific reviews of company financials in the fast-paced world of mergers and acquisitions
  • Be proficient at trial balance mapping and general ledger tie-outs

  • Assist in preparation of proof of cash and take first stab at bank reconciliations

  • Prepare and update document request lists

  • Review and tie out final client reports and databooks to ensure data accuracy of reported numbers.

  • Work in a hybrid environment and coordinate with consulting professionals and senior management in the U.S. daily, including some early morning and late evening conference calls.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, project management, organization, prioritization and follow-up skills

  • Knowledge of the technology tools (e.g., advanced Excel, data analytics tools like Alteryx, etc.) will be an added advantage

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field required

  • CA, CPA, MBA or comparable accounting/finance designation preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • A self-starter who is comfortable working in a hybrid environment

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • The successful candidates must be willing to travel to Canada and the USA.
