What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Associate to join our Tax Insurance Advisory team. In this role, you will support the placement of tax liability insurance for clients engaged in renewable energy, M&A, and other commercial transactions. This role involves advising our insurance clients regarding a wide range of potential tax risks to be insured.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation of tax knowledge coupled with excellent written communication skills and creative problem-solving abilities Our practice focuses on renewable energy incentives, investment tax credits, and risk management in sophisticated deal environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior professional with legal and/or tax experience who is eager to develop deep expertise across a wide range of tax topics.

Responsibilities:

Assist in structuring and analyzing tax insurance policies to address potential tax exposures for clients in renewable energy and transactional settings.

Review transaction agreements (e.g., partnership agreements, purchase agreements, tax equity documents, tax credit transfer agreements, and debt finance agreements) to help identify and assess tax risks.

Support negotiation of insurance contract terms in collaboration.

Conduct research and prepare client-ready memoranda and opinions on tax, issues affecting insurability of tax positions.

Contribute to client presentations, proposals, and insurance submissions.

Coordinate with underwriters, investors, developers, and law firms to facilitate deal execution.

Track project timelines and manage transaction documentation to ensure smooth closing processes.
Qualifications:

J.D. or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax Law, or related field.

2+ years of experience in tax due diligence, deal structuring, or post-merger integration at a Big 4, corporate tax department, or law firm.

Strong writing, research, analytical, and presentation skills.

Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and leadership skills.

Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Critical-thinking self-starter with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
