Jane advises on Canadian M&A indirect tax matters affecting both the buy-side and sell-side.

Jane has served as Tax Director in the Caribbean, and previously a Canadian Indirect Tax Partner for one of the Big 4 firms.

Over her career Jane has assisted clients with their tax compliance both domestically and internationally with tax advisory training and assisting with tax dispute resolution. She also developed a specialty in real property, restructuring and payroll tax matters. She brings a wealth of experience from more than 44 years dealing with a wide range of Canadian Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) matters, Bahamas VAT and indirect tax and Canadian payroll and income tax matters.

Jane has been a regular speaker at various professional conferences in both Canada and The Bahamas including co-presenting with the Ontario Minister of Finance on the HST and the Bahamas’ Minister of Financial Services on their VAT and delivering a technical paper on the GST and the hospital sector at the CICA Commodity Tax Symposium.

Jane co-authored Carswell’s Canadian GST Guide for Business; and Carswell’s Ontario Workplace Insurance – Claims Management and Return to Work guide.
