Rich Blumenreich is a Senior Advisor at Leo Berwick, where he supports clients and deal teams across infrastructure, energy, and renewable investments with a focus on partnership taxation, leasing, and tax credit structuring. He advises on complex federal income tax matters, including the application of elective pay and tax credit transferability regimes, and supports transaction structuring and technical tax analysis for investment, financing, and M&A activities.
He brings decades of experience from senior roles at a Big 4 firm and the Chief Counsel’s office at the Internal Revenue Service. At the Big 4 firm, he advised multinational corporations, private equity sponsors, and investors on tax-efficient investment and financing structures. His experience spans the development and interpretation of tax guidance, structuring of credit-driven investments, and advising on complex partnership and leasing arrangements.
Rich has served in leadership and technical roles within professional organizations, including committee and chair roles within the American Bar Association’s Tax Section. He is a frequent speaker on partnership tax, energy and renewable tax credits, cost recovery, and related regulatory developments.
